How Contributions are made

Each landowner who decides to make a voluntary ground rent contribution chooses how much to pay each month, based on the market rent of our land and our desire and ability to contribute.

Next, we decide whether we'd like our contribution to be used to fund some form of Universal Income, or to provide revenue to some level of government, or a combination of these.

Where we decide to contribute to funding a Universal Income, the present contributors have chosen a charity that distributes a Universal Income in East Africa called Give Directly, though this may change if we can find a way of distributing it more locally.

Where we decide to contribute to local government we have discussed a mechanism with some parish councils in England (see information sheet). We hope in future to come to a similar arrangement with billing authorities and HMRC.
